I am happy to report that I am feeling much better today. A good night's sweating it out seems to have broken the back of my man flu!

As I am 13Km ofoff my planned course I accept a lift off the owner of the B&B to get me back on track.

The joy of arriving at the first cemetery (having battled through a bitterly cold and strong wind) is immediately turned into disappointment when I find a sign saying the site is infested with caterpillars!

The day then follows an all to simple structure, 10 further cemeteries and lots of emotions and a visit to the Lochnagar crater. I met coachloads of British Army cadets touring the cemeteries and, for me the highlight of the walk so far.....a jacket potato with cheese and beans...the first hot good I'd had since Thursday mornings bacon roll, ration pack energy bars and fruit puree is ok, but you can't beat a hot meal.
